Cinderella's Wild Ride

Thanksgiving, in addition to being a time to count your blessings and revel in graditude, brings a host of sensory abundance. From the delights of gourmandish overload to the political rants of your least favorite cousin Marvin, the day can careen from delight to disaster and back again. The cocktail below, administered with caution, may help you to regain your equilibrium.

Happy Turkey Day and Cheers!

~The Bar Fly

Cinderella's Wild Ride
1.5 oz Zaya Rum
.5 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz cinnamon spice syrup*
1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 tbsp pumpkin butter (heaping)
1/4 oz half and half
1 large egg white

Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake hard for one minute. This dirnk should be foamy, so if you have a Hawthorne strainer, pop the spring off and throw it in the shaker for some extra agitation. Strain into a coupe glass and top with grated nutmeg.

* For the cinnamon spice syrup, dissolve 1 cup sugar in 1 cup of strong, hot cinnamon tea. I use 2 bags of Tazo's Spice Cinnamon Spice in 1 cup of freshly boiled water. Steep for at least 10 minutes.
